Antony), Overcoming Compulsive Hoarding (Fugen Neziroglu) and Stop Obsessing (Edna B. Foa). If you want to focus on self esteem self help in the realm of love and relationships, then give Iyanala Vanzant's 1999 book, In The Meantime: Finding Yourself and the Love You Want a spin. As one of Ebony Magazine's "100 Most Influential Black Americans," she has been referred to as "a multimedia high priestess of healthy relationships." Over the years, she has appeared on the Chris Rock Show, Oprah and her own TV series. Vanzant talks about using the time you'd normally wallow in confusion as a time of building self confidence and preparing yourself for true love. She talks about learning to love yourself first, listening to what people do rather than what they say, avoiding the notion that every relationship is "the one," and learning to open up to vulnerable, unconditional love. In a metaphorical journey, she takes you into the mind, room by room, where you'll work at cleansing your soul and clearing out the mental clutter. Nearly 200 readers have reviewed this book at www.amazon.com, where it's for sale for $10.80, and has received a high rating.

Self Esteem Activities To Improve Your Life
One of the often recommended self esteem activities is to transform your space. For some strange reason, our mental state tends to mirror our surroundings; so if you're in a house that's full of clutter, your mind will feel disarrayed. If you're in a room with plain white walls and no character, you will feel like your personality is just as dull.

Why It's Important To Build Self Esteem
Improving and building esteem leads to so many thoughts, feelings and actions that are beneficial to your life. When you have high esteem, you feel worthy of happiness, love and respect. You will find it easier to make and achieve goals, state your desires and values, and obtain lasting happiness when you are self confident.

Low Self Esteem Effects and Outcomes
One of the most serious low self esteem effects is that it makes it impossible for an individual to live a healthy, happy and productive life. Psychologists have spent decades studying the role that poor esteem plays in a number of social ills. In some cases, people with low self-esteem resort to violence to assert their dominance, while other times people with low esteem become the victims of such violence.
